txt

Six plain text files that test encodings and line endings: txt_ascii (54 bytes), txt_utf8_unicode with accented and non-Latin characters, txt_utf8_bom which begins with a byte order mark, txt_utf16le in UTF-16, txt_crlf with Windows line endings, and txt_empty_0_bytes. Text files look simple, yet encoding problems are among the most common bugs in importers and search tools. A BOM can add an invisible character to the first line, and UTF-16 can look like random garbage if read as UTF-8. Open each file in your app and check that the text displays correctly and the empty file does not crash anything.
