pdf

Five PDF files for the most important document format. There are 1, 10 and 100 page versions (824 bytes, 4 KB and 41 KB), so you can test page counts, rendering and paging. The pdf_image_only file is 1 MB and has no text layer, like a scan, which means text extraction finds nothing and only OCR can read it. The pdf_password_protected file needs the password qa-example. Use these to test PDF viewers, thumbnails, text search, upload limits and the error handling for locked files. The image-only file is the one most likely to show gaps in a search or indexing system.
