Their contents are trivial, but the names contain what breaks real software: spaces, an UPPERCASE extension, a double extension (.jpg.txt), many dots, no extension at all, a 100 character name, special characters such as ( ) [ ] & + # %, and Japanese, Russian and accented Unicode text. Upload forms, download headers, URL encoding and file-system code all handle these differently. Run them through your upload and download flow and check each name survives unchanged. We stopped at 100 characters here, since longer names cause problems when checking files out on Windows.
